Hail to the queen of contouring which is KIM KARDASHAN. Although contouring as already used In the 16th century by stage actors, it is still continue used by not only makeup artist but even just a normal makeup addict chic like me to have that chiseled face. My weapon of choice when it comes to contour isKievyn Aucoin Contour book II,
If you are born with a rounded face like me, fear not for contouring makeup will be your best friend. Below you can see where I generally put contours (dark) and highlight (light)
Listed below are the products that I have used:
1. Kievyn Aucoin The Creamy Glow Duo
SCULPTING MEDIUM /CANDELIGHT
Get the perfect flush with this lip and cheek color duo. Shades can be used alone or mixed together to achieve the desired look. Cream formula glides easily for a streak-free application.
2. Kievyn Aucoin The Sculpting Contour Powder
Sculpt the face with this award winning ultra-sheer, matte contour powder. This original Kevyn Aucoin formula combines brown, red, and gray pigments that work together to recreate natural shading and dimension on the face. You can use the powder to create dramatic effects or soft definition under cheekbones, under chin, down the neck, and along the sides of the nose. The formula mimics the look of natural shadows for a perfectly sculpted look, is crease-proof, and doesn’t settle into lines or pores.
Kievyn Aucoin The Celestial Highlighting Powder
The Celestial Powder accentuates your best features. This sheer, champagne-colored powder blurs imperfections, highlights cheekbones, and illuminates any areas that light naturally hits with an illuminating gleam. Sweep this highlighting powder over foundation, bare skin, or dust it all over the face for a soft, ethereal glow that is lightweight and leaves a flawless, sheer finish.
The Kievyn Aucoin’s sculpting powder has a smooth and buttery texture! It has the right amount of cool undertones or gray undertones meaning it doesn’t even have a touch of orange-ness that it works so well on even asian fair skin and it really looks like shadow.
The Sculpting cream is a bit darker than the powder. I don’t think you need to put over sculpting powder if you are planning to use cream for contouring. It will just look so intensely chiseled look. Except if you going for a special event where in you really need your makeup to last longer. Or if you have dry skin or going to a place where in the climate is cold then use the cream sculpting powder.
The candelight cream can be used underneath the powder for a lasting finish. Plus becasue the candelight powder has this soft/ light natural effect no matter how many times you keep on adding it up it will not be as intensily as the anastasia highlight glpow powders.
I really like the candlelight it is highlighting and soft in masking if you have fine lines or wrinkles. It might not look too shimmery on pictures but I highly recommend this highlighter especially of you have a mature skin:-)
A little tip is that this is a Sephora exclusive so be sure to include it in your shopping cart the next time you are planning to treat yourself:-) .
